You need an extra activity, but you also need your students engaged. You want them to exercise their brains. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mystery Wheel Drawing. A variation on traditional grid drawing, students complete the blank wheel by using a straight-edge to divide it into sections. They then reassemble to scrambled image according to the numbered sections to complete the image. Allows students to focus their attention on each section while the wheel helps to manage proportion problems.
If you'd like to introduce grid drawing as a new concept to your students, you may find my introductory series beneficial.
