Pg. 12-16 Reed’s Pond Conclusion Mobile – copy the patterns onto colored construction paper – fill out the details and the conclusion – glue them onto the pond and turtle shells – add the head, tails, and feet to the turtles – take a long piece of ribbon – glue the pond and turtles to the ribbon – attach a bow to the top of the ribbon with hot glue or create a loop at the top of the ribbon and hang – see example
Pg. 17-18 Suffixes er, or, ist –a foldable book – write four examples for each suffix – use one in a sentence – and illustrate the sentence
Pg. 19-21 Homophones! – copy pages A and B back to back – use each homophone in a sentence to show its meaning – illustrate your sentence
Pg. 22-24 So…You think you’re ready for a pet? – a brochure to give to prospective pet owners – fold it like a trifold and fill it out
Pg. 25-28 Pronoun Contractions! – copy pages A and B back to back – cut out the egg halves and match them – open the book and glue the ends of the egg halves to create doors on each whole egg – write the contraction under the flaps – use each contraction in a sentence
Pg. 29-34 The Day I Brought My Boa to School – a fun writing craft project – copy all the patterns on the correct colored construction paper – attach the story to a piece of construction paper – attach the snake pieces around the outside of the construction paper being careful not to cover the writing with the snakes head – glue the snake body parts behind the piece of construction paper – attach the tongue – see example
