This particular activity is related to both science and the language arts. It is actually a writing activity involving a myth about the changing seasons. Students will read this myth and then create their own myth--not necessarily involving the seasons. It can be adapted to science and seasons in particular, but it can also just be a writing exercise devoted to creating a myth on any topic. There is a discussion on myths, in general, and the seasons before the class reads and discusses the attached myth. This lesson would be a good introduction to seasons during a science unit on such a topic. Or it could be a good lesson during a unit on Myths. It is open for adaptation.
