Students will be provided with 10 statements about gifted students. They are asked to identify which statements are lies and which ones are truths.
This activity brings awareness to both teachers and students about gifted characteristics. I use it in the beginning of the year with my students to help them better under what it means to be gifted. I also recommend they use the myths to help advocate for themselves with other teachers who may not treat them fairly. I have also used it during a professional development session to make other teachers aware of gifted myths.
