Product Description
This game, center, activity is based off of the idea of the popular game show The Price is Right!

Students will act as the contestants do in the final round and "bid" or "pass" on various cards (24 choices) with vacations, vehicles, items, etc.

This is a perfect NO PREP activity for students to practice: real-life prices and estimation, basic computation and strategy

Print, preferably in color, cut, laminate and shuffle cards

Students can work in partners or as a group (at least 2 people are needed to play)

Place cards face down and have the first student pick 2 to 3 cards (your preference depending on the students’ level or if you’d like to them add two numbers or three)

Once they pick their cards they flip them over. Then they can either “bid” or “pass” to the other player (or team if more than 2 people are playing)

To “bid” on their cards they must make an educated guess on what each card would cost and then find the total of their cards OR they pass it to the other player/team who then bids

Whichever person/team did not bid first, then chooses 2 or 3 new cards from the pile and bids

Once both partners/teams have locked in their bids, they look at the price sheet to determine who was closest to the actual total (allow students to calculate their differences and then compare the totals)

Whichever person/team is closest wins
Continue playing until time is up for your center rotation or all cards are gone
(however you are choosing to use them)

Note: Use your judgement - if you think your students will have a hard time figuring out prices for these prizes, I have added price cards that students can use to “match” and get an idea of what the price could be for items.
