If you are looking for a product that covers all four domains of speaking, listening. reading, and writing, this is it! This sequencing product has 32 colored picture cards and sequencing number cards for kids to sort onto the enclosed work mat (copy on colored paper if you wish), pocket charts, table tops or even on your carpet area. These wordless cards work well for your non-English speakers or low readers. You can differentiate these from sequences of four to sequences of three to make the task easier.
Students should be encouraged to verbalize as much as they are able about the order of the cards. In this way, English learners are getting the benefit of the listening and speaking domains.
There are 16 reproducible cut/paste half sheet sorts that work well in interactive notebooks or you can put them together in “book” form and staple. The first set of half sheets are wordless for those newcomer English learners or those students who are reading challenged. The second set includes words, so you can address the reading domain for English learners.
Also included: a drawing/labeling page to challenge students to make their own sequences and a list of ideas to help them begin which allows them the opportunity to use the writing domain. Get those kiddos talking!
The (8) sequences included:
baking a cake
washing the dog
painting a picture
frog life cycle
eating an apple
making a PB & J sandwich
planting a sunflower seed
brushing your teeth
I hope your students enjoy this product!
