This lesson would work as a perfect lead-in for a World War Two unit in a World History or U.S. History class. Students consider ten causes of World War One, summarize informational text, consider questions before each cause appears on the slides, and then create visual representations of each cause on their papers. There are also written response options at the end. This lesson could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 50 minutes, depending on how long you wan to spend having students discuss the questions and the content. Enjoy!
The ten causes that are described in detail include:
#1 No Clear Victor from WWI
#2 Versailles Treaty Controversy
#3 Global Depression Hits Germany
#4 Germany Turns to Fascism
#5 Global Anticommunist Movement
#6 A Generation Removed from WWI
#7 Uneven Distribution of Colonies
#8 The Anschluss With Austria
#9 The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact
#10 A Series of Appeasements
