This fourth grade planning guide maps out an entire year's worth of Science. It is designed for teachers using the National Geographic Cengage Learning textbooks printed in 2015 for the individual Earth, Physical, and Life Science textbooks. It contains a list of all the Next Generation Science Standards, corresponding chapters, specific page numbers, vocabulary lists, science expert lists, lab titles with page numbers, suggested supplemental ideas, including writing prompts, and additional page numbers for the Exploring Science textbooks. I have personally used this pacing guide as a checklist and aid while planning individual lessons. The document is uploaded in Word, so that you can add, delete, or edit the material to meet your students' specific needs. I have included the West Virginia standard numbers, which may not be the same for all states. In my classroom, I alternate between teaching Science and Social Studies. Therefore, I only spend 18 weeks a year teaching each subject. You could easily expand these units into two week units, rather than one.
