Each of the 2 lessons includes engaging, ready to print resources, including:
• Student Worksheets
• Answer Keys
• Detailed Teacher Guides

In lesson 1, students gather evidence from three different activities, and use that evidence to write an explanation that will support the argument that the Earth is a sphere shape. Students must understand that the Earth is a sphere before they can understand that the Earth pulls objects towards its center.

In lesson 2, students place people in various locations on an Earth diagram to see that “down” is different for each person. Down is towards the center of the Earth. Students will then read about gravity, and incorporate what they learned in the Shape of Earth lesson and the Gravity lesson to explain that Earth’s gravity is directed "down" towards the center of the Earth.
