This group project focuses on the new break-through gene editing technology called CRISPR-Cas9. The project is a perfect way to end a unit on DNA, and incorporates NGSS activities and the use of technology. The project is an incredible way to transfer the curriculum into real-world scenarios.
The project asks students to analyze the revolutionary CRISPR-Cas9 technology that is being implemented to cure mutations, diseases, and cancer. Students will then choose a company using the technology and create a free informative website about their company, how the technology works, and how to raise awareness for their disease.
Please feel free to tailor the project to your classroom/liking!
