You will need to print pages 3-10 of this document and then cut pages 7, 8, 9 and 10 into individual squares/cards per group. I would place the cards into 3 individual envelopes (1. pictures, 2. years and 3. dates) and scramble them.
First have the students sort the pictures and discuss their rationale as groups (most will be in the wrong order), then have them present to the class why they put them in that order. During this time the dates and year should remain in their separate envelopes. Then they can sort the actual dates of the year in chronological order. The "years ago" can then be placed in numerical order. If you want to extend the time then they can draw it on a separate piece of paper.
