Product Description
This lab is a fully-integrated NGSS activity incorporating the primary concept of Matter and Energy with these two practices-- Planning and Carrying Out Investigation and Analyzing and Interpreting Data. In the first part, students will record observations and mix three chemicals, trying to determine if they are witnessing a physical or a chemical change. In the second part, students will design experiment to determine which chemicals are responsible for the increase in temperature. This lab would be appropriate for advanced 7th graders, standard 8th graders, or as an scientific method review for 9th-11th graders.
