This is a real world task that requires students to create a structure that can withstand an earthquake. The earthquake is the Jello and their house is made of toothpicks and marshmallows. Included is an entrance slip, data table, during experiment questions, and a post assessment that requires a re-design using evidence from the data table. You have a rubric to use to grade the experiment. The experiment is differentiated. The experiment is in two levels. Y and B lab sheet represents yellow for the Sun (high students) and blue represents the sky (middle group). The G lab sheet represents the grass (low students). This is all included in the PDF.
