Project Based Learning (PBL) and cross curricular middle school science unit integrating physical science, metric system measurements, scaling the solar system, measuring and describing distances through scientific notation, and exploring exponential growth. Literacy skills such as notetaking, brainstorming, and collecting and organizing information through graphic organizers are utilized. Students are guided through modeling activities, scientific diagramming, and introduced to aspects of United States History through the research and construction of NASA space exploration timelines. Teamwork and Collaboration are also emphasized, modeled, and assessed. Examples of student work are included.
