Have you ever run out of time or materials for a science activity? Or wished you had an additional activity to address the themes of NGSS? This set of activities was created to offer some pencil and paper work that still allows students to work creatively and think critically. They address the 2nd Grade Next Gen Standards under the Structure and Properties of Matter category. The pages can be given to students with little to no prep or explanation, as they are self-explanatory. They could also be done as a group or a sharing activity. This product was designed to be a flexible science resource.
Pages 1-2 Intro and standards
Pages 3-24 Printable science activities
Pages 25-46 Answer key
In this product you will find 22 pages of engaging science reading, writing, and other creative activities. Similarly themed pages are near each other and can be printed back-to-back. The pages are numbered for organizational purposes, but can be taught in any order. The standard being addressed is listed in the top left corner of each page. I’ve also included a brief title, such as “Freezing.” The pages are listed as either Reading & Writing or as Creative Activities. Both types of pages are focused primarily on science, however you’ll find that Reading & Writing involves more vocabulary and explanatory paragraphs, while Creative Activities involve more critical thinking. The latter half of the document is the answer key.
