In this project, students research, create, and present a project on one wave of the electromagnetic spectrum of interest that is used by a technological device to transmit and capture information and energy. It is designed for high school students and is an OPEN-ENDED project, meaning students are free to choose what device to research, what information/how much to share, and how they will present it.It requires them to create some sort of presentation and prop to facilitate them. However it can be edited to limit what they can/cannot research. This project is aligned with the NGSS!!!!
Examples devices are suggested such as:
Students can work alone or in groups, and it comes with a project outline as well as a DETAILED rubric for easy grading!
This lesson was designed for and is aligned to the following NGSS Next Generation Science Standard Performance Expectation for high school:
HS-PS4-5. Communicate technical information about how some technological devices use the principles of wave behavior and wave interactions with matter to transmit and capture information and energy.*
