Product Description
“The K.I.M. Strategy is a low prep, high yield strategy that supports ALL levels of learners across ALL content areas.”

What is it? It's a direct vocabulary instruction strategy. The acronym stands for Key word, Important information, Memory clue and Sentence. You may choose to have students do this inside their notebooks (no-prep), but you could also print out and use the graphic organizer (low-prep). I typically give them the printed graphic organizer for the first few assignments, then have them draw them into their interactive notebooks.

What you receive:
KIMS with QR Code and link to student friendly dictionary with key
Additional version so you can use your own definitions

These vocabulary words have been chosen to support what students need to know to master the Next Generation Science Standard:
MS-ESS1-2. Develop and use a model to describe the role of gravity in the motions within galaxies and the solar system. [Clarification Statement: Emphasis for the model is on gravity as the force that holds together the solar system and Milky Way galaxy and controls orbital motions within them. Examples of models can be physical (such as the analogy of distance along a football field or computer visualizations of elliptical orbits) or conceptual (such as mathematical proportions relative to the size of familiar objects such as students' school or state).] [Assessment Boundary: Assessment does not include Kepler’s Laws of orbital motion or the apparent retrograde motion of the planets as viewed from Earth.]
