Description

I work with students who are in the 3-5 grade range that are struggling with building more complex sentences. They are also struggling with identifying the who, what, where, when in sentences, and when listening to longer story passages. Even when I provided visuals and examples, my students were still struggling with learning the concepts. These activities break down the skills to help understand how to build a more complex sentence by including the wh-question elements.

If you are looking for easy to implement grammar activities, then this resource is for you! This resource is helpful for students with language impairments, students on the Autism spectrum, and ESL or English Language Learners. It comes with real photos and is leveled for different abilities.

*******This comes in a WinZip file. You need the unzipping software to gain access to all four pdf files that come with this resource.*********

I included four PDFs to include different formats as well as a black and white and color printing option.

One black and white and color set has the worksheets set up with "who, what, where, when" format.

Google Slides ™ of these worksheets are included to all the teacher or speech therapist to assign in Google Classroom.

The other black and white and color set have the worksheets set up with "when, who, what, where". Pick the format that will work best with your students!

Check out my BLOG POST to see more pictures and how this activity set is used!

“Describe what you see” worksheets can be used for introducing all the parts of a sentence. Students can write or draw the parts in the blank sections.

“Build a sentence” worksheets are great for learning how to put the sentence together and beginning to incorporate writing.

“Photo task cards and sentence strips” are a tool to help work on word order.

All of these activities can serve as a warm-up activity, language station, or whole group activity.
