Hello! Thank you for looking at ‘Four Journeys and Adventures to Develop and Improve Expressive, Receptive and Pragmatic Language Skills!

I hope that your students enjoy these lessons as much as mine did! I particularly loved these when my days were a bit busy and all I had to do was print, copy and complete with my students. There are four lessons in this packet and should take you one to two sessions to complete each lesson, depending on how your students work. (Again, these lessons are all black and white)

The four lesson journeys are as follows:
*Pirate Isle - Find the Treasure Map!
*Basketball Practice - Preparing for the Big Game!
*The Twins' Birthday Bash
*The Mystery of the Missing Bunny

Each journey contains 2-3 picture pages and 10 distinct directives / activities to complete for each picture page.

Language Skills Addressed Throughout Each Activity:
*Vocabulary Development
*Following Directions Containing Linguistic Concepts (1-3 step)
*Reasoning, Thinking & Inferencing Questions
*Verbal Sentence Formulation
*Syntax and Morphological Development
*Repeating Sentences Verbatim
*Pragmatic Language Skills of Perspective Taking, Verbal Problem Solving

The only extra materials that you would need are crayons or markers, but even with that, I have left it up to you depending in your materials.

My groups are diverse and have several needs that I am required to address during each session. It is not always easy, but with these lessons, I manage to accomplish many of the goals established for my students, not to mention, that they are fun!

As far as assessing students for these lessons, I usually write down the students’ names and then what I am specifically working on with each, making sure to target the skill while taking turns, but I will leave that up to you because I find that everyone has their own way of taking data!
