I created this activity to keep my students engaged in practicing skills that many of them find “boring.” After introducing this game to my class, they look forward to grammar and ask to play Zip, Zap, Zop CONSTANTLY! The best part is that it requires NO PREP except cutting the slips and putting them into a bag! I file the bags each year to use for the following year! I hope you find your students enjoying this game as much as mine!
Please note this can also be used as a task card activity instead of a game. I have also used it as an interactive notebook sort. Direct students to sort into four categories: imperative, declarative, interrogative, and exclamatory. I have included an answer key for your convenience.
