Expanding sentences with adjectives is an activity used to work on concepts while increasing mean length of utterance. The picture and sentences can be used to target the following sentence structure: Personal pronoun (I) + see + adjective + object. The student is prompted with a "what do you see?" question. Your students can then drag the correct preposition into the sentence. Your students can practice the sentences to work on expanding MLU (mean length of utterance). Using the Boom Learning platform, provides opportunity for students to check their answers digitally!
Visual cues are given to elicit verbal productions without needing a direct model from an adult.
