Are some of your students just NOT that into Minecraft? Here's the same activity... but without the use of Minecraft. It has been rewritten with a revised rubric so that students can draw to show their work, etc.
This activity is great for reinforcing Fraction concepts/vocabulary such as Equivalent Fractions, Simplest Form, Unit Fractions, Mixed Numbers, and Decimals. These tasks are based on Common Core questions and enable students to demonstrate their knowledge of fractions and decimals creatively. There are 12 activities in this set. There are a variety of activities- This set can be done without Minecraft. Students will draw or build with legos, math cubes, etc.
Use this as activity as a math center, enrichment project, or assessment.
CC.4.NF.1 & 2 - Extend understanding of fraction equivalence and ordering
CC4.NF.3 - Build fractions from unit fractions by applying and extending previous understandings of operations on whole numbers.
CC.4.NF.5 & 6 – Understand decimal notation for fractions, and compare decimal fractions
