Do you want your students immediately engaged with a desire to actually learn about Shakespeare? Look no further!
Fully editable, simple PowerPoint presentation with basic information about Shakespeare's life, the Globe Theater, and Elizabethan England. It has pictures and is simple and straightforward.
Follow along student notes sheet. The notes are fill in the blank. The blanks are underlined on the PowerPoint. Here is how the notes sheet is broken up...
Page 1: 10 question questionnaire about Shakespeare's life. Just adding this sheet sent student engagement through the roof. I just tell them to guess at all the answers and to have fun with it, and believe it or not, THEY DO! Then they pay very close attention to the PPT because they want to know how close their answers were. The answers are throughout the notes, but I have all the answers at the end just in case they miss a few. Seriously...just doing this dynamically changed this entire activity.

Page 3: Students watch "Love Story" by Taylor Swift and the trailer for "Gnomeo and Juliet" and fill out information about how our culture views the story of Romeo and Juliet. The links to the videos are embedded in the PPT.
Page 4: The Prologue of the play. I have students get into groups (sometimes) and have them attempt to translate it and we go over it at the end of class. (pictured)
