This is a movie guide for the NOVA: The Great Math Mystery. The file is a compressed (zip) file that consists of three files:
1. The actual worksheet itself (.docx)
2. The answers to the worksheet (.docx)
3. Teacher Notes (general information) (.pdf)
There are 20 questions on the movie guide. The questions are arranged in the order that they appear in the movie.
The movie itself is available free on pbs.org (as of June 2015). It explores mathematics as it relates to our world - the way in which it is found in nature, in computer software, in photographs, in physic and engineering. It also connects the advances in mathematics to historical events such as the sinking of the Titanic and the discovery of the Higgs Boson. Various players in history also come up, such as Aristotle, Galileo and Newton. This movie does an excellent job of explaining the connection of mathematics to the physical world.
