This is a flip book for students to use when reading a new book. There are three "doors" to this flip book. One is the "N" which stands for New Learnings, one is the "O" which stands for Old Information, and the last one is the "W" which stands for "Wonderings". When you flip up each flap, students can record something new that they learned from the book, something old that they already knew about that they found in the book, and a wondering-a question that they have about or beyond the book. All you need to do is:
1. Print the two pages (make sure your setting is 2-sided)
2. Cut around the outer dotted line
3. Fold in half
4. Cut one half into thirds (along the two dotted lines).
Students can use this as a book marker to the book they are reading so they can come back to it later.
This can be useful as a literacy center tool, a guided reading tool, or even an exit slip tool to check for understanding on a whole class book!
