Number Talks provide students with opportunities to talk about their mental math reasoning; listen to the reasoning of others; and engage in academic discussions. These task cards provide a great resource for integrating Number Talks into your classroom.
You will receive general information for introducing this effective routine into your daily instruction as well as 500+ problems that can be used immediately.
The problems in this set provide additional practice for the 5 Multiplication strategies seen in the work of Sherry Parrish: Repeated Addition or Skip Counting; Making Landmark or Friendly Numbers; Partial Products; Doubling and Halving; and Breaking Factors into Smaller Factors.
The task cards come in two versions; full sheet and half sheet. You can use either and laminate them, or mount them on card stock to have easily accessible as you engage in Number Talks with your students.
This and other task cards in my store are based on the book Number Talks by Math Solutions. For more strategies (addition, subtraction, and division) please visit my store, MATH 4 MAE.
