Name Glyph instructions are in a PowerPoint presentation to use as a whole group activity. A printable of the instructions is also included.
Editable name plate templates in several sizes are included. You can change the font to a block letter of your choice...and just adjust the font size.
Possible format for sharing the PowerPoint presentation...
Show instructions for the first letter. Go over directions emphasizing that only one letter will be colored at a time. After completing each letter, students meet on the carpet for sharing. Invite students to hold up their name plates as the choices are read. This gives each student a chance to share something about themselves before moving on to the next letter. It also gives the class a chance to move around and practice coming to the carpet or meeting place. Repeat the same routine for each letter. At the end of the activity discuss similarities and differences that we all share. It’s fun to see things we have in common with other classmates, but our differences will help make us a strong team.
I use first names and instructions for the first 5 letters. Kiddos that have longer names continue the pattern that they have started until all letters are colored.
