I made this to use in a learning center at the beginning of the year for my students. Each student had an envelope with their first and last name on it. Inside I had the letters for their name on little paper tiles. Students would order the letter tiles to spell their names. Later in the Fall Semester, I covered the name written on the envelop with a picture of the student. They would need to recall the correct spelling of their first and last name and order the tiles. At first, I tell students work on their name only. As they become more familiar with letters and names, they can try to spell their friends names too. This is always one of the student's favorite centers and a great way to learn name fluency that can help with reading names in texts.
