I created this project for my group of alternate students. While working with this group I always had to walk a fine line between teaching fundamental skills and keeping students engaged. This project represents that balance as I was able to use it to re-teach a basic concept in a way that was engaging, and intensely personal, for the students. Not only did the students learn something about themselves (which they were able to share with their peers) it reaffirmed a fundamental concept of grammar (i.e. noun capitalization) that many of them were struggling with.
