This project was created based on a series of articles I loved in "Science World". Students will research an assigned element and create clues for other students to try and guess their element. Each clue will give more details about the element and the final clue will give the most well known detail. The clues will include information such as uses of the element, who discovered the element, where it is found, the number of protons, neutrons and electrons and much more. In addition to the clues, students will also create an advertising poster for their element which can be used to make a classroom Periodic Table when the project is completed. Once the research is done, students move around the room trying to solve the puzzle clues and identify the elements. A rubric is included for teachers. This project is aligned with Common Core Standards.
