Use these beginning sound task cards one of five ways...
1. Present task cards one at a time during guided reading group. Have each student identify the beginning sound represented by all the pictures on their card.
2. Place these task cards on a ring in random order. Ask students to flip through the ring during guided reading group and name the beginning sounds represented on each card.
3.Have a couple of students stack these task cards face down and take turns turning over a card to identify the beginning sound of the pictures.
4. Use alphabet clothespins purchased at Michaels or homemade alphabet clothespins to clip on the task cards during guided reading group or at an alphabet center.
5. Use these task cards to assess students’ knowledge of beginning sounds.
