This could be used as a seat changer activity, 1st day of school activity, or activity to introduce/reinforce correlations/line of fit. Students find the value of their name and record it (I have them do this on name tents the first day). Then, the slides go through different types of numbers (prime, square, triangular, perfect...). Students choose a seat when their value matches the type of number. The first slide for each number type just names the category. The second slide explains the category and lists numbers that qualify. This will allow the teacher to see which students know each category. The final slide includes an optional activity that involves graphing all the student data to see if there is a correlation between the length of names and their value.
