This is a Smartboard lesson for the first few weeks of school that highlights a student's name each day. Choose the letters to make each of your students' names by copying and pasting them onto a new page of the Smartboard file. Students can read the name, note how many consonants and vowels the name has and make as many little words as they can using only those letters. My students love it! This activity lays a great foundation for beginning reading and writing skills. Also included is a single color letter sheet. I use these letters as we get to the end of our names to see if they can sort the letters according to vowels/consonants on their own.
