At the beginning of the school year, it's so important to foster a sense of community and this daily name activity helps to do this! Basically each day, the class focuses on one student's name for that day's lesson. It's simple- use the letters provided to focus on one student's name each day by spelling it out in a pocket chart. Then use the lesson plan I've included to ask the students questions about that child's name. Your students will be cheering, dancing, and complimenting the student along the way. The final part of the lesson involves having all the children make a page for a book that will go to the student. The student whose turn it is, is getting some much needed individual attention and your other students will be practicing important literacy skills. I hope you enjoy!
