This activity requires students to use their understanding of the prefixes -non, -mis, -dis, and -un to determine the definition of words containing these prefixes.
There are 20 cards, each with a word containing one of these prefixes. Each student tapes a card to their back. Students are given an activity sheet that lists definitions. Each child has to find the student that has a word on their back matching the definition. They write both the word down and the student's name.
For example, the first clue is "To say something incorrectly." Upon walking around and looking at the cards on their classmates' backs, the student would identify that "mispronounce" is the answer. If Kate had "mispronounce" taped to her back, students would write "mispronounce" and "Kate" next to clue #1.
