Students of all ages love the game, GO FISH! This is a card game played like GO FISH where students have to correctly name covalent compounds. Each card has a formula for a covalent compound and students try to collect all four identical cards to make a set by asking for the cards with the correct formula name.
As students play this game they will (painlessly) learn to name covalent compounds.
This game is a great reinforcement and review for all chemistry students. Keep several card sets out so students may play if they finish their work early. Let students have a game day as a reward, or just play a round as a challenge to earn bonus points.
You can print as many card decks as you need for your classes with this template. Both blackline cards and color cards are included so you can print on white or different colors of card stock. A worksheet is included for students to write formulas and names. An answer key is also included.
Rules are included for a short version and a long version of the game so it will fit your teaching schedule.
