This is a multi-grade set of over 15 unique worksheets, spanning second to fourth grade level. The second and third grade levels focus on simply writing the numerical name for a fraction (3/7), whereas the fourth grade level focuses on a conceptual understanding of fractions as not only the standard name (such as three sevenths), but also in terms of parts and wholes (3 out of 7) and division (3 divided by 7).
The fourth grade level has A and B versions for your convenience: the A version has a slower progression through the concepts, while the B version proceeds in a more rapid pace. You'll find pdfs of both versions in the zip file, along with a third pdf explaining the letter variations in more detail.
Can be used in tutoring or as a resource with specific students who need more focused practice on the concept. May be used to quickly review concept or help student re-learn it. I recommend using different pages on different days so the student has to move information in and out of memory more.
I created this to use with my tutoring students; those struggling with naming fractions show great improvement after practicing with thse worksheets, and using the fourth grade level worksheets along with discussion of the way the different forms of fraction names are used tends to pay off later as I see them recognize these forms in other problems and work with them more readily.
This bundle was created from the following individual grade level sets:
