I use Flap Notes as Lecture to explain how to name Ionic and Covalent Compounds. I give 3 simple steps for naming, -ide names, prefixes, and polyatomic ions.

4 Worksheets:
1. Fill in the Blank Compound Names and Matching Formula’s and Names
Students complete the missing parts of names for compounds. Students match chemical formula's with the correct compound name.
2. Naming Compound
Students circle the correct compound name for the chemical formula and x out the incorrect compound names.
3. Polyatomic Ions
Students identify the polyatomic ion in the chemical formula by underlining the poly. Write NO POLY if their is no poly is in the chemical formula.
4. Matching: Formula’s and Names
Comprehensive Worksheet (can be used as an Exit Slip or Homework) to assess the students knowledge of Naming Compounds
