Title: The Phone Call by Donald Morton.
Questions focused on Narrative Elements.
Lexile 500-600

This story was created for my 6th grade LA class that has SPED and ESOL learners, so I differentiate with this story. It is at about an 800 Lexile level. Approximately 4th grade level. This would be on level reading for a 4th grade level but would also work for extended 3rd also.

Each article of the week has 2 cover sheets, one that has a reading log included one with out. Both are editable using text boxes in power point.

There are also clear directions to the students on how to use close reading strategies.
