Narrative Fun with Short Stories
Want to test your students’ abilities to find the elements of a narrative such as conflict and theme? Your students will have fun as they watch award-winning short stories and find the setting, characterization, conflict, exposition, rising action, resolution, and themes for each story. A graphic organizer is included with this lesson and may be used as a formative or summative assessment. A list of previewed and suggested short stories with links is included with examples of setting, characterization, plot, and theme for four of the short stories. This is a great activity to engage students in the reading and writing process.
