The Lost Key!
Use the Narrative Plan to introduce the text type; Narrative. Narratives can be difficult to teach without a great deal of scaffolding. The Lost Key Narrative Plan helps children break down the structure of a Narrative and gives them ideas for their own.
SUGGESTION: Write The Lost Key together, using an Interactive Whiteboard, Television or Bucher's Paper - Then allow for the children to write theirs independently. Remembering the "key" can be any kind of key. Some children chose to write about a lost treasure chest key, car keys, house keys and even a bike chain key.
