Teaching narrative point of view? Well, this CCSS aligned product is a great addition to your lessons! This product includes an interactive anchor chart for your students' notebooks, and a graphic organizer that allows students to analyze the point of view of a variety of literature, and determine how the stories will change if the point of view changes.
The anchor chart discusses: narrator, narrative point of view, and the four main types of point of view (first person, second person, third person limited, third person omniscient).
Each of the four main types of narrative point of view is described, and sample key/clue words are given, in order to help students with determining the narrative point of view in a piece of literature. There is also room for students to write an example of a story that you have read in class for each type of point of view. I thought this was important because students then have a reference and a solid example of each type of narrative point of view.
For use in student notebooks, you would need to adjust your printer settings to 75%-95%, depending on the size notebooks your students have. Then, once students glue this anchor chart in their notebooks, they will have a great reference tool at their fingertips!
It is possible to make a large anchor chart for your class with this document if you take it to your local office supply store. It is black and white, but you could highlight, shade, or color it to fit your needs once printed.
