This nine day unit plan on the instruction of narrative writing was designed to be implemented with little prep work needed. Most days just required students to have a pencil and notebook paper. All handouts that may be needed are placed right after the lesson plan, and a table of contents tells exactly where everything is in this unit. Each lesson plan is an easy to follow step by step format of what to do on that day.
These lessons were created to break down all of the important aspects of great narratives such as organizing events, character/setting introduction, and details. Students will be able to practice each of these skills individually before writing a narrative.
At the end of this unit, students will practice writing narratives as they might encounter them on standardized tests. It is good to have students accustomed to this format as soon as possible.
Check the Table of Contents picture to see exactly what is taught on each day.
