This two-page document is the overview of a five-day narrative writing unit. In this document, you will be shown the specifics of the assignment and will also find examples of what good writing looks like through definitions and samples of figurative language, dialogue, proper use of bolder color words (and a list), and tips of what NOT to do in a narrative essay.
This overview is to be used in combination with the peer checklist (2 options included), grading rubric, brainstorming activities (2 options included), and the color writing instructions for the final day. If used together it will make up a 5-6 day body of work.
I have been teaching for fifteen years, and this is one of my most seamless lessons. It is easy to grade, while putting the proper emphasis on student writing.
