Challenge your students to write their longest narrative ever by tackling a page or two each month. This resource is an overview of the longer lesson that spans the course of a school year from September through April. It is a great tool for writing in the classroom; it can also be used as an independent activity for homework or enrichment. The pacing of the lessons compliment other items covered in a middle school classroom: plot, dialogue, sensory details, grammar, symbolism, the hero cycle, and more! You just may challenge yourself to learn and teach something new with these plans. Not only was this one of my favorite activities ever done in the classroom, the students and their parents raved about it as well. All items are done in Word and can be manipulated to change the goals, due dates and point value of the assignments.
