Room to Write units are a series of writing lessons which teach students writing vocabulary while teaching narrative writing skills. Each lesson is taught using a PowerPoint presentation, which includes an objective, concept development, guided practice, and independent practice. The engaging activities, which follow the lessons, help to make writing concepts more tangible.
These lessons provide a foundation for developing an idea. Students will engage in activities to understand the meaning of details, which will improve both reading and writing. Once students complete the series of 11 lessons, they will be prepared to write a narrative on one topic/idea with details.
