These narrative writing organizers are ideal for the pre-writing phase of the writing process. It includes the following:
- This is a blank character development organizer that students can use to record their ideas about the main characters (antagonist, protagonist, supporting) in their narratives. It contains the following sections: physical traits, personality traits, action traits, character roles, communication style, character associations, problems/challenges, and major accomplishments. - This is a blank setting development organizer that students can use to record their ideas about the main settings in their narratives. Students will be encouraged to brainstorm ideas that will appeal to their readers' 5 senses. There is also a section for them use vivid language to unleash their creativity. After completing this organizer, your students will have explored their setting from all dimensions, not just the visual.
- This is a blank plot graph that students can use to organize their ideas prior to drafting a short story. It contains the following sections: exposition (characters and setting), conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution, title, and theme.
