Narrative Writing Unit - Year 1 and 2

In this unit, students learn the elements of a narrative text in order to effectively construct their own engaging narrative.

✩It is a 10-week unit (~10 lessons) that contains all lesson resources including worksheets, printable activities and posters.

✩ The editable planner includes relevant Australian Curriculum links. Includes a planner for version 8.4 and version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.

✩To keep lessons simple and succinct, the planner features five to six steps for each lesson. Units include worksheets but there is not one for every lesson. Teachers need to use their own skill to ensure the lessons remain explicit and teaching opportunities are not missed.

✩Mrs Amy123 is known for its fun and engaging lessons that feature a range of cooperative learning strategies. This unit has been a consistent hit every year with students around the world.

✩These units are best used in the second half of the year. If using in the first half consider using the year 1 planner for year 2. Notes have been put in for simplifying the year 1 planner depending on student ability but it still may be too challenging for some classes in the first half of the year.
