Teach your students the story of Bacon's Rebellion by analyzing the causes and effects of the event. This debate reviews the trial of Bacon and the arguments for and against his rebellion. This activity helps students understand the rising tension between the colonists and the British government while analyzing primary sources and working collaboratively with a team to develop a strong argument for a debate.
The packaged activity includes a lesson plan, grading rubric and all materials for the debate (including 13 primary source excerpts, debate organizer and a culminating activity).
