The Brother Who Gave Rice

Pg. 3-7 Social Studies Vocabulary and Academic Vocabulary – Copy pages A and B back to back. Cut on the dotted lines and fold on the solid lines. Draw a picture, Write a definition and a sentence for each vocabulary word.
Pg. 8-10 Ar!!! Where’s Me “ar” Words? – Copy the pages A and B back to back. Cut along the dotted line and cut the spelling words out. Match them with the correct treasure chest and glue them in place. Flip the paper over and write the spelling words in the correct spaces.
Pg. 11-12 Many Bowls of Rice! – Put your high frequency words in abc order. Color them the correct color depending on their abc order.
Pg. 13-15 Spelling Teller – Follow the directions, fold your Spelling Teller, and grab a buddy! When your buddy chooses a word, make sure you spell it out as you move your Spelling Teller. Your buddy should choose and spell 3 spelling words before you open the flap to read what is under it.
Pg. 16-18 Pronouns! – Copy pages A and B back to back. Fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines. Lift the flap and rewrite the sentence using subject pronouns and object pronouns.
Pg. 19-23 Story Element Soup! – Copy the pot onto gray construction paper. Put together as seen in the example. Copy pages A and B back to back and cut apart. Choose a book or use one that is in your reading book. Fill out and illustrate.
Pg. 24-27 – My Best Dinner Ever! – They had plenty of rice to share at their meal. What was the best dinner you have ever had? Was it something special you ate or who did you shared it with?
Choose either the bowl or plate. Cut it out, color it and draw your meal. Attach it to the top of a large piece of construction paper with your writing underneath.
Pg. 28-35 Many Bowls of Rice – a game that helps you practice your high frequency words. The directions are on the game. Copy onto cardstock and laminate for durability.
